Reliability Assurance

Since its founding 200 years ago as a traditional drug seller and after the establishment of Amato Pharmaceutical Products along with the formulation of BORRAGINOL® about 100 years ago, Amato has thought about the life and health of patients first and foremost and has been concerned with both product quality and the information quality.

Why does Amato have a quality assurance department in its organization that is separate from manufacturing?

As a pharmaceutical company, Amato has a responsibility to manage its product quality objectively and transparently. As a separate organizational unit that is independent from the manufacturing department, the quality assurance department evaluates production processes. This department then responds, following the relevant laws.

Why does Amato have a separate safety pharmacovigilance department in its organization, which is separate from sales?

As a pharmaceutical company, Amato has a responsibility to be accountable for the quality of its products by providing objective and transparent information on their safety. This department confirms the appropriateness of information dissemination activities and whether activities to gather information on possible side effects are being conducted. This department is also responsible for related education and inspections. This department then responds, following the relevant laws.

Why does Amato have a reliability assurance department in its organization?

Because it is necessary to supervise both the quality of products and quality of information from a unified perspective Amato has established a quality assurance department and a pharmacovigilance department for this purpose under the supervision of the persons in overall charge of production and sales. These departments work to realize Amato’s objective of thinking “first and foremost of the life and health of patients.” This department then responds, following the relevant laws.
